Doherty launches online backup service

Doherty Associates has recently partnered with Iron Mountain to launch a new online backup service, Doherty Data Vault. The service complements Doherty’s existing range of disaster recovery solutions and offers ultimate peace of mind, at an affordable price.
The service has been launched in response to high client demand for cost effective, highly secure data protection. As Terry Doherty, Managing Director at Doherty Associates explains, “Our clients’ data is their business. As a trusted, outsourced IT provider, we are relied upon to provide best-of-breed solutions that deliver robust data protection. With Iron Mountain, we have the peace of mind that comes with a well-established brand and the confidence to recommend online backup to customers across the whole of our varied client base.”
Critical company data is encrypted and then copied securely over the Internet to two offsite data centres. In the event of a crisis, full access to data can be restored quickly and easily. In contrast to a traditional overnight tape backup, Data Vault can perform a backup as often as every fifteen minutes, dramatically minimising the potential amount of data that could be lost in the event of a disaster. Online backup also eliminates the inconvenience of manual backup processes, including the changing of backup tapes and having to take tapes off-site each day.
The data that is being backed up is stored simultaneously at both our Milton Keynes and Brussells data centres, providing two sources from which it can be restored and therefore double the level of data protection. All data is fully encrypted, to ensure that no-one other than the customer can access it.
Customers can implement Data Vault from as little as £10 per month and, as part of the service launch, may trial the service for 30 days for free.
More information will be posted on the Doherty Associates website soon. Please call 0208 987 1150 to enquire about a free trial.
