Doherty Associates selected by newly launched financial provider
Doherty Associates today announced that Oakam Limited have selected them as a key IT partner. Doherty Associates will be managing and supporting Oakam’s IT infrastructure. They have also worked with Oakam to develop an application called Advisor, to accurately capture and maintain customer details.
Oakam Limited is a new financial services business having just launched it’s first retail outlet in Walthamstow in February. They provide a range of financial services for migrant and ethnic minority communities including cheque cashing, prepaid and telecoms cards, money remittance and plan to extend these product offerings with the provision of mortgage and loan facilities. Oakam chose Doherty Associates for their IT expertise and flexibility in accommodating their start up requirements, and future business growth plans.

Oakam needed a business application that they could rely on to identify and store critical customer information. A bespoke solution, ‘Advisor’, was designed and developed by people at Doherty Associates, which could accurately view customer relationships and transaction history. Once Oakam provides a service, the full customer relationship can be accessed through ‘Advisor’ including personal details and identification with a customer photo. Not only will Oakam benefit from a snapshot view of their customers, but all documents are held electronically. As a result, more informed and strategic decisions are made and administration time is kept to a minimum with the need for manual processes eliminated.
By bringing a rich customer view to sales staff at the point of interaction with a customer, the Oakam team is able, by using Advisor, to deliver a ‘relationship’ experience to all of it’s customers, regardless of whether or not that sales & service advisor has dealt with that particular customer before or not.
Doherty Associates also implemented Oakam’s IT network including servers, desktops and printers at their head office and it’s first branch. The business is reliant on this framework for their systems to process accurate transactions and to provide an optimum service at all times.
