Symantec international study shows 1 in 2 UK companies is not equipped for an IT disaster
Symantec today published an international study on disaster recovery planning and testing. According to the report, “while 91 percent of IT organisations carry out full scenario testing of their disaster recovery plans incorporating relevant people, processes and technologies, nearly 50 percent of those tests fail. This means that one in two UK organisations is not equipped to handle events, such as natural disasters, computer system failures and external computer threats.”
Symantec also found that 48 percent of organisations have had to execute their disaster recovery plans. When the statistics are viewed in conjunction, they prove that UK businesses need work harder to protect themselves by organising, implementing and testing disaster recovery plans.
