- A US-based research company, set out to quantify the productivity returns and cost savings to IT departments from mobile solutions. They found:
- Companies paid back the cost of implementation in 4.3 months
- The one-year ROI of implementing a mobile solution was 129%
- The three-year ROI rose to 300%
- IT staff time dedicated to activities such as network trouble shooting, performance management, database management fell by 50%
- Senior executives benefited from an extra 73 productive hours per year
- On average, mobile connectivity added 36 productive hours per employee/year

In addition, IDC reported that mobile working was much more convenient, that employees enjoyed more flexibility in their working day, which led to a higher quality of life and lower staff turnover.
