Background

Thames Consular Services are a leading visa and passport agency operating in the UK and Europe. Established in 1980, Thames now receives over a hundred requests a day for passports, business and tourist visas, travel and emigration documents as well as copies of marriage and birth certificates. Clients include multinational companies, leading travel agencies and the general public.
Thames was in need of an IT partner who could help them meet the increasing volumes of customer enquiries and greater demand for faster turnaround.
The challenge
Thames had a manual process where staff processed each individual request. Each application would be divided by country, then booked, checked and documented in the system. This was time consuming and increased the likelihood of errors. It also made tracking and monitoring requests difficult.
Thames were looking for an IT supplier who could help improve their service to customers by automating the entire process, improve reporting and share information more effectively between offices.
