Systems Consultant 

About the Role

Based in: Richmond, Surrey  

Often working onsite with customers based in the city, our offices are based in Richmond.  All staff are currently working from home but there is likely to be some infrequent but regular travel to the office in order to maintain contact with the company in person . 

Doherty Associates has been working with Office 365 since before it was Office 365 (or Microsoft 365).  We have deep knowledge in the platform, with engineers specialising in migrations, tenant setup and lockdown, SharePoint and Teams. 

We are looking to add another person to our team of consultants to work mainly with our small and midmarket customers (50 users and up), concentrating on moving them to a modern workplace based on the M365 platform.  The team delivers chargeable bespoke project work end to end and presales consultancy for our customers.  The majority of customers will already be using Office 365, and the role is mainly about implementing improvements to their working environment by getting more use from the platform.  

Responsibilities

  • Completing projects to move desktops and other devices to Azure AD enrolment with Intune Policies
  • Setting up Teams and SharePoint for customers 
  • Assisting with SharePoint migrations
  • Configuring Microsoft 365 settings and policies
  • Implementing Conditional Access and MCAS policies

The successful applicant

  • Is comfortable working directly with clients
  • Is able to learn quickly about new products and features within M365
  • Has a good eye for detail and enjoys delivering projects according to best practice and standards
  • Is able to lead customer facing engagements
  • Knows when to take a step back, double check, ask for advice, or do further research before forging ahead 

Attributes required 

 The successful applicant will have these essential attributes: 

  • Good  general knowledge of the M365 platform
  • At least 3 years professional IT experience in MSP or IT consultancy organisations
  • Experience in implementing or supporting M365
  • Knowledge of the security and compliance features of M365 including Intune, Conditional Access, DLP and Information Protection
  • A measured and cautious approach well suited to corporate client environments
  • A flexible approach to working, comfortable with working unsupervised at customer sites in a consultancy capacity
  • Understanding of management of scope and commercial change control
  • Excellent written, documentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage with all parts of the project lifecycle including assisting with writing scopes of work and contributing to bids for project work, as well as implementation and handover. 

 

The following attributes would be advantageous

  • Experience of using PowerShell for automating tasks within M365 and developing reusable scripts
  • Achieved or working towards MS-700 Managing Microsoft Teams and MS-500 M365 Security Administration or Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert 
  • Experience working in an MSP, SI, or short term contracting
