Network Consultant 

About the Role
As a Network Consultant, you will provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, testing, and handover of Networking and Network Security projects. You will work primarily with one large enterprise customer where there is a unique and challenging network. You will engage throughout the project lifecycle, gaining the customers trust and working to fully understand their requirements. You will be a motivated engineer or consultant with good cross-vendor knowledge of networking, but particular experience with Check Point and Cisco ASA. You’ll work with routing, switching, and wifi technologies along with numerous network security products and solutions. You’ll have a can-do attitude and be comfortable working directly with technical stakeholders and third parties.

Job Summary


  • Represent HR and participate in internal groups and committees across the business
  • Contribute to network and connectivity strategy of the large enterprise LAN/WAN
  • Assist with deployment of corporate standards across disparate remote sites
  • Execute the ongoing improvement works needed across the LAN / WAN such as ISE and Ironport WSA deployment
  •  Assist with the PoC and deployment of WANOPT/SDWAN technologies such as Silver Peak
  • Document and handover projects to support
  • Assist in resolving issues post-implementation
  • Be escalation point for complex issues that can’t be resolved by junior members of staff
  • Have a good understanding of the relevant offerings from our partners eg Fortinet, Microsoft
  • Complete time and expense reporting requirements

Organisational Relationships
  • Reports to CTO
  • Scheduled by Project Managers

QualificationsNetwork Consultants should have proven experience of working in networking and security consultancy roles and delivering projects. A computing, science, or engineering degree is helpful but not required. Cisco CCNP and Check Point CCSE or equivalent knowledge are required, while Fortinet NSE4 and solid Silver Peak experience are desirable

Work Environment
You will work primarily in the Richmond, London office, though home based currently during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is envisaged that the business will move to a hybrid working model in the longer term. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer monitor. Manual handling will not be a part of the role.
