Systems Consultant 

About the Role

Systems consultants work in the professional services team. The systems consultant delivers chargeable project work and presales consultancy. They work flexibly from home, visiting our Richmond office but also spending some of their time on customer site. They will form a part of our presales team that design and architect our projects, and will also deliver these projects. They will often be involved early in the sales process and will therefore need excellent customer facing skills and be comfortable discussing business requirements and benefits. They will need to be able to manage and deliver small projects autonomously, and work with our PMO on larger projects.

Attributes required

  • MCSE level knowledge
  • At least 8 years professional IT experience
  •  Professional presentation, and be comfortable in presales scenarios with potential customers
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and other infrastructure services
  • Excellent documentation and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of server virtualisation with either HyperV or VMWare ESXi
  • Good knowledge of MS Exchange 2010 and newer
  • Good knowledge of at least one of: MS SQL, RDS/Terminal Services, Citrix, MS SCCM
  • Some experience with SANs
  • Experience with server hardware
  • Some experience of pre-sales consultancy
  • Willingness to work beyond business hours from time to time – overtime paid through prior arrangement on weekends and some evenings
  • Willingness to travel as required to remote sites, sometimes beyond the M25 or occasionally outside the UK for duration of implementations
  • Excellent experience in a client facing role, communicating with both technical and non-technical clients
  • Ability to work onsite or remotely without supervision
  • Energetic “can do” attitude
  • Strong sense of teamwork
  • Desire to work in an environment delivering exceptional customer service
  • Ability to follow business procedures such as time and activity recording
  • Awareness of Prince 2 concepts

The following attributes would be advantageous:

  • Experience working in an IT support or IT consultancy company
  • Experience working in professional services environments (eg Accountants, Lawyers, Architects, etc
  • Experience of Office 365 and Azure Active Directory
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience of working with Intune / MEM
  • Understanding of Networking fundamentals
  • MCSE / MCSA certification
  • VCP or CCA/CCEE certification
  • Prince 2 Foundation/Practitioner certification
