HR Business Partner

About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, the HR Business Partner will be the main face of HR within the business. Responsible for setting the direction of the people agenda, and all associated processes including recruitment and performance management. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day running of the HR function and will have line management responsibilities for an HR Assistant.

Job Summary

Strategy, Policies and Processes

  • Identify, design, and implement new HR projects and initiatives that support the business strategy
  • Own and manage HR policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring they remain legally compliant. Review their suitability to ensure cultural fit.
  • Communicate policy and process updates to staff and managers, work with teams to ensuring that they operate within these parameters.

Employee Relations

  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across the business
  • Drive employee engagement and recognition across the business - promote the use of online tools
  • Plan and manage employee engagement surveys. Distill the outputs of engagement surveys into digestible actions, work with managers and communicate to staff.

HR Partnering

  • Work with managers to shape and integrate the business strategy with people management practices
  • Support managers through the alignment of HR activities with the organisational strategy. Help solve business issues through the people side of the business.
  • Keeping up to date with changes to legislation and best-practice, use judgement to implement into the business culture and add to the HR strategy and plan
  • Identify and manage the relationships with 3rd party HR partners or HR consultants
  • Oversee the management of the performance review process, partner and guide senior managers

Organisation and Job design

  • Work with managers in designing roles that fit with the business strategy
  • Partner the business in defining an annual recruitment plan that is aligned with the business strategy
Recruitment and Selection

  • Collaborate with business leaders to solve organisational challenges, with a focus on developing and execute strategies to help recruit, onboard, develop, retain top talent
Compensation, reward, and benefits
  • Manage the annual pay review cycle across the business, Determining suitable salaries and remuneration
  • Advise on pay and remuneration issues

  • Represent HR and participate in internal groups and committees across the business
  • Promote, embrace, and instill company values within the team
  • Act as a role model in the organisation, demonstrating and articulating our values, culture, work environment, business strategies, benefits etc.
Professional Experience
Must have:
  • CIPD qualification
  • Experience in running an HR and recruitment function in an SMB
  • Solutions orientated and commercially astute, with the ability to roll your sleeves up and work on both strategic and operational HR issues.
  • Demonstrable employee relations experience and employment law knowledge

Work Environment
You will work primarily in the Richmond, London office, though home based currently during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is envisaged that the business will move to a hybrid working model in the longer term. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer monitor. Manual handling will not be a part of the role.
