TalkTalk was hit by a major cyber-attack last week. This cyber-attack led to customer’s personal data and banking details being easily accessed. This was the third attack in 12 months for TalkTalk. Although the teenage who has been accused has been released on bail, this cyber-attack has become one of the UK's most significant data breaches.
Even though TalkTalk has stated no account passwords were taken and credit debit card numbers were protected, some customers have said money has gone missing from their accounts. TalkTalk said there is currently no evidence that customers’ bank accounts have been affected but it does not know how much customer information was encrypted.
Customers have now been trying to cancel their contracts with TalkTalk as they don’t feel like their data is safe.
